Venice Beach Dub Club (VBDC) is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Seth Caro. Caro grew up playing New York City’s rock-and-roll clubs, rocking the boat and getting into trouble. After moving to Venice, California, in 2015 to try his hand at Reggae music, he began hosting rooftop jam sessions that became known as the Venice Beach Dub Club. The unwieldy name remains today, although the rooftop is long gone.

Caro created VBDC to defy the usual constraints of Reggae, incorporating his passion for rock and roll, Hip-Hop, Country and anything else that tickled his fancy. To bring that unusual musical synthesis to life in the studio, he joined forces with producers Gary Larason of Big G Productions, who also plays lead guitar for VBDC, and Benji Hamlin of Bass 2 Zion Productions, who provides the bass. Together, they make music that challenges expectations without sacrificing the hooks that make you want to sing along.

VBDC’s catalog consists of two full-length studio albums, a six-song EP, an array of standalone singles and a surprising sprinkling of Christmas songs. The project is best known for singles including “Hybrid Love” and “Stay Cool,” along with collaborations featuring artists such as Hip-Hop legend Keith Murray and YouTube personality An0maly. Music is about freedom, not formulas, and VBDC brings that freedom to listeners who are ready to hear it. New releases are slated for 2027, with a third full-length studio album currently in the works.
